U.S. President Trump Receives New Austrian Ambassador

On January 6, 2020, career diplomat Martin Weiss was officially installed as the Austrian Ambassador to the United States of America. During a formal ceremony in the Oval Office of the White House, Ambassador Weiss presented his letter of credence to U.S. President Donald J. Trump. Although Ambassador Weiss arrived in Washington, DC last November, the presentation of his credentials marks the official beginning of his tenure as Austrian Ambassador to the United States.

After the ceremony, the Ambassador attended a luncheon with other ambassadors and State Department officials at Blair House, the President’s Guest House.
