The Economics Section of the Austrian Embassy in Washington, DC, in cooperation with the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, welcomed 80 Executive MBA Students for lectures on March 15, 2018. The students from the University of Salzburg Business School (SMBS) were in town as part of their study abroad module at Georgetown University.
 
The Embassy’s Economic Counselor, Alexander Ehrlich-Adam, talked about developments in economic policy in the United States, while Andreas Stauber, director of the Austrian Economic Chamber’s Washington office, talked about his work inter alia with the World Bank.
 
In addition, Professor Sanjay Patnaik of The George Washington University gave a presentation about U.S. trade policy in the light of looming tariffs on steel and aluminum. Finally, Dieter Eier, Director of the U.S. branch of the Austrian company Frequentis, gave insights into his 20 years of experience in conducting business in the United States.
 
The SMBS now also offers a new double degree MBA program in general management with a focus on entrepreneurship in cooperation with Long Island University in New York City.
