On February 26, 2018, Ambassador Wolfgang Waldner inaugurated Christian Zeller as Austrian Honorary Consul in charge of the West Coast of Florida. On that occasion, the Austrian Ambassador also met with representatives of local business communities.

Having attended the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra’s (VPO) dinner-concert on Thursday, February 22, at the iconic Knickerbocker Club in NYC, Ambassador Waldner and his wife Gudrun Faudon-Waldner also attended the VPO’s Brahms-only performance under the direction of conductor Gustavo Dudamel on Tuesday, February 26, in Naples, FL, on Tuesday, February 26. The orchestra completed its three-year residency at Artis - Naples , home of the Naples Philharmonic in Southwest Florida, with concerts, as well as a variety of initiatives ranging from public master classes with members of the Naples Philharmonic Youth Orchestra to lectures on Viennese culture and traditions as part of Artis - Naples’ popular Lifelong Learning continuing education series.
