White House Tours
The White House website states that foreign nationals interested in touring the White House should contact their Embassy to arrange a tour. However, due to the substantial security requirements mandated by the U.S. Department of State to facilitate such a visit, we are unable to process any applications at this time.
The Embassy recommends taking a virtual tour of the White House or visiting the White House Visitor Center instead (1450 Pennsylvania Avenue NW between 14/15th Street NW).
Alternatively, U.S. citizens can book a tour of the U.S. Capitol for no charge by contacting their congressional representative: U.S. House and U.S. Senate. You can also register for a live, virtual visit here (must register 48 hours in advance) or book a tour on the U.S. Capitol’s website here.
Furthermore, most museums in Washington DC do not charge admission and cover a variety of subjects, from art to air and space. Most are located on the National Mall (Metro accessible through the stops “Smithsonian” or “Archives”).
Tours of the Pentagon have to be booked individually through the Pentagon website. The Embassy cannot assist in the booking process of Pentagon tours.
