On the occasion of International Women’s Day (IWD), celebrated every year on March 8, the Austrian Foreign Ministry launched the social media campaign #womentothetop. Embracing this year’s IWD motto “Women in Leadership”, more than 100 portraits of successful Austrian women from all around the world will be featured on the Foreign Ministry’s social media channels throughout the month of March.

#Womentothetop aims at drawing more attention to success stories of women in leadership positions, thus helping young women to break glass ceilings and encouraging them to make their way to the top!

With Katja Pinker-Domenig and Nicole Vogrin two impressive Austrian women in the United States are featured in the campaign:

“I work as a breast cancer radiologist and researcher at one of the world's most renowned centers for cancer diagnosis, treatment and research in New York. This is a dream come true for me! Research is my great passion and, above all, the way to provide my patients with the best possible care!”

Dr. Katja Pinker-Domenig is professor of radiology specialized in breast cancer imaging at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Weill Cornell Medicine College in New York. She is considered one of the world’s leading radiologists and has received multiple awards for her research. Born in Vienna, Austria, Katja Pinker-Domenig has been living in the U.S. for more than seven years.

Nicole Vogrin is Chief Corporate Affairs and Communications Officer of Western Union in Denver, Colorado. The Austrian native ist the first woman heading the 170-year-old company’s global corporate brand, affairs and communications strategy. In 2020, Nicole Vogrin has been selected as a Young Global Leader (YGL) of the World Economic Forum.
