Austrian Ambassador Martin Weiss spearheads the commitment of the Austrian representations in the United States to actively participate in the recently launched “100 Day Masking Challenge”.
“Here at the Austrian Embassy, we fully support the 100 Day Masking Challenge proclaimed by President Joe Biden. We all get tired of wearing our masks but science tells us they really make a difference — they truly do!” the Austrian Ambassador emphasized in a statement.
U.S. President Joe Biden has urged all Americans to wear masks for his first 100 days in office to slow the spread of COVID-19. The U.S. Department of State invited all foreign missions and consulates in the United States to participate. All Austrian representations in the United States — from the Consulate General in New York City to Open Austria, Austria’s innovation office in Silicon Valley, — committed to the initiative and will continue to require the wearing of face masks on their premises.
The “100 Day Masking Challenge” is supported by all European Union Member States’ Embassies as well as the E.U. Delegation in Washington, DC, who expressed European solidarity in this short video message.
