On December 2, 2021, Ambassador Weiss joined Johannes Max-Theurer, the CEO of Plasser & Theurer, in the festive opening of the company’s newly expanded headquarters in Chesapeake, VA.
Plasser American, the U.S. sister company of Plasser & Theurer of Austria, has been delivering Austrian rail technology in the United States for over 60 years and keeps growing: the company’s Virginia headquarters has now been expanded with an investment of USD 52.6 million, creating some 100 new jobs.
Plasser American Corporation continues to serve not only the nation’s freight railroads, but also the high speed inter city and commuter systems, as well as city transit and light rail operators.
