Ambassador Waldner in Chicago

From April 9 to 12, 2018, Austria’s leading diplomat in the U.S. visited Chicago, in the midwestern state of Illinois. At City Hall, Ambassador Waldner received a warm reception by Mayor Rahm Emanuel. His visit to the "Windy City" also included a luncheon at the Chicago-office of the American Jewish Committee.

At the University of Chicago's Institute of Politics, Ambassador Waldner discussed the transatlantic relationship with Dean John W. Boyer.

The Ambassador and Mrs. Waldner, accompanied by Austrian Honorary Consul Reinhold Krammer and Austrian Trade Commissioner Peter Sedlmayer, also visited the Austrian companies Pollmann, an automotive supplier in Romeoville, and the airline caterer DO & CO in Des Plaines. Furthermore, the Ambassador met with #AustriansAbroad who live in the greater Chicago area.
