Hannah Lessing delivers a talk at the Austrian Embassy

Hannah Lessing, Secretary General of the Austrian National Fund for the Victims of National Socialism visited New York, New Jersey and Washington, DC from October 24 to November 1, 2018.

While in NYC and NJ, she met with a number of Jewish organizations, religious leaders, academics and Holocaust survivors.

Besides, she attended the reception for the American friends of the Jewish Museum in Vienna at the Austrian Cultural Forum New York as well as the Austrian National Day reception at the Austrian Consulate General in New York.

During her stay in Washington, DC, she delivered a lecture on the Austrian measures to address Holocaust crimes as part of the Austrian lecture series: Read a summary, watch the video and look up the pictures of the evening.

She also introduced the movie screening of “Shadow of Shame,” organized by the Austrian Cultural Forum Washington and afterwards participated in a discussion with filmmaker Sabina Zwitter-Grilc, moderated by Foreign Policy Deputy Editor in Chief Sarah Wildman. Furthermore, Lessing had a number of meetings at the State Department, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, Jewish Organizations, and lawyers involved in Holocaust justice. In addition, she also attended the panel discussion about transatlantic relations and the European Union at the Austrian Embassy.
