Diplomatic Tour to Charleston, SC

From October 14-16, 2018, Ambassador Waldner joined several of his colleagues on an official visit to Charleston, SC. The trip, organized by the U.S. Department of State’s Chief of Protocol for heads of mission, aimed to further interest in Charleston and to encourage international business and trade.

The group’s schedule included visits to the Port of Charleston, the Boeing Delivery Center, Garden and Gun Magazine, the Clemson Restoration Institute Campus, as well as Joint Base Charleston. Additional programming provided opportunities to forge networks for trade, policy, and friendship.

Besides its strong economic base, Charleston also dazzled its guests with its rich history, well-preserved architecture, and its Southern charm and hospitable people.
