Ambassador Heim Visits the U.S.

Ambassador Heim visited the UN secretariat in New York on January 6, 2017: In a meeting with Assistant Secretary General (ASG) for Political Affairs, Miroslav Jenča, he discussed regional challenges in the Black Sea and Caucasus areas as well as possible avenues for mutual support for the respective programs for 2017 in regards to the longstanding and protracted Transdniestrian conflict on Moldovan territory.

On January 9, 2017, having proceeded to Washington, D.C., Ambassador Heim met with representatives of the State Department, the Department of Defense as well as with the Co-Chair of the Helsinki Commission, Senator Robert Wicker, who also indicated his intention to participate in the Winter Session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Vienna from 23-24 February, 2017. During his meetings, Ambassador Heim was accompanied by the Head of the OSCE Mission in Moldova, Ambassador Michael Scanlan.
