Austrian Movie Shown at the EU Film Festival “Starring Europe”

In the context of the EU Film Festival “Starring Europe”, the Austrian movie “Those who fall have wings” (“Jeder der fällt, hat Flügel”) by Peter Brunner was shown at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica on May 13. “Those who fall have wings” is an Austrian drama that centers on topics of loss and grief.

The EU Film Festival „Starring Europe“ is a festive event celebrating Europe Day (May 9) and took place in Los Angeles from May 12 to May 19. In total, 16 award-winning movies were shown. For the second year in a row, American Cinemathèque functioned as a co-host. The opening event at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood was attended by approximately 600 guests, including EU-Ambassador to the U.S. David O’Sullivan.

The festival is funded through financial contributions by each country as well as sponsors. In addition to that, each of the participating Consulates General or Honorary Consulates provides the license fee for their movies, refreshments for the opening reception, as well as travel expenses and accommodation for directors or actors.
