While over ten thousand people gathered in Vienna to watch this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, the Embassy welcomed some 600 guests for the biggest public viewing outside of Europe.
The audience followed the show on several big screens. After a total of 27 songs, the results were finally announced at around seven o’ clock in the evening, and our guests cheered as the Swedish song “Heroes” was announced as winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2015. Although the Austrian entry ended up with 0 points, the show was a great success and Vienna’s performance as a host city was once more widely acclaimed.
