New Database of Austrian Space Industry and Research
Space science and research has had a long tradition in Austria. Already in 1969, the first experimental appliances were sent in space and since 1987, the year of Austria’s accession to the European Space Agency (ESA), a wide range of space technologies have been developed in the Alpine nation. Today over one hundred Austrian companies and research institutes are part of the international space sector.
In order to support Austrian space industry and research, the Austrian Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology has made these organizations' profiles and technological competences publicly accessible for the first time with their Database of Austrian Space Industry and Research.
