Many personalities with Austrian heritage have made fundamental contributions to the development of California. The “Austrian Wall of Fame,” a permanent photo exhibition created on the occasion of the Austrian Consulate General’s 50th anniversary, pays tribute to some of those great countrymen and –women. Among the guests at the official inauguration party at the premises of the Consulate in Los Angeles on October 23, 2019, were Tim Zinnemann, son of legendary director Fred Zinnemann, composer Arnold Schönberg’s sons Ronald and Laurence, Hollywood star Paul Henreid’s daughter Monika, architect Richard Neutra’s grandson Nick as well as the Consul General of Israel, the Hon. Hillel Newman.
