Austrian Holocaust Memorial Servants Inaugural Visit to Los Angeles

On September 18, 2018, three Austrian Holocaust Memorial Servants who recently started their work in Los Angeles paid their inaugural visit to Consul General Andreas Launer. The Consul General expressed his great satisfaction that Austria has delegated three highly motivated and qualified young citizens to serve at institutions of paramount importance to the remembrance of the Holocaust, the fight against anti-Semitism, racism, and intolerance, namely the USC Shoah Foundation, the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust, and the Museum of Tolerance.

The Austrian Holocaust Memorial Service started as an alternative to Austria’s compulsory military service and today assigns volunteers to serve at major Holocaust and Jewish institutions around the world.
