Austrian world music trio Cobario performed at H.D. Cooke Elementary School on June 29, 2018 as part of the Concerts in Schools - series of Washington Performing Arts (WPA).

The concert was attended by some 100 students aged seven to nine. Cobario took students on a musical journey around the globe, talked about their music, their inspiration, and their travels. A song entitled "Gulasch" was particularly well-received by the young audience and inspired spontaneous dancing.

During their trip, Cobario also performed in Canada, as well as in front of a full house at the Austrian Embassy in Washington, DC. In addition, the band also provided the musical framework during the Embassy’s recent signature event on the occasion of Austria's Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2018.

The Austrian Embassy had previously partnered with H.D. Cooke Elementary School in the framework of the joint WPA and District of Columbia Public Schools' Embassy Adoption Program in 2015.
