Hustle and Bustle at This Year's EU Open House
On May 12, 2018, the Austrian Embassy in Washington, DC opened its doors to the public as part of the annual EU Embassies' Open House Day. Over 3,000 visitors dropped by to get a Taste Of Austria, personally meet Ambassador Wolfgang Waldner, to learn more about the country and its culture, before testing one's knowledge on Austria to receive sweet prizes like PEZ candy and Manner wafers.

Visitors could also sample Zotter chocolate, fresh apple strudel prepared from Little Austria, Viennese Meinl coffee, and get energized with the newest Red Bull drinks, learn more about the "hidden" Austrian parts in a VW car, or join an Austrian wine tasting seminar with sommelier Klaus Wittauer. Appropriate Austrian folk attire was on offer by Lady Austria and Oliver Weber.
