Austrian Minister of Finance Hans Jörg Schelling and Governor of the Austrian National Bank Ewald Nowotny participated in the IMF/Worldbank Group spring meetings from April 16-18 in Washington, DC.

They held bilateral meetings with senior officials of both IMF and The World Bank to discuss the current economic situation in Austria, Europe and the World and met with Austrian IMF and World Bank staff at a reception at the Austrian Ambassador’s residence. Minister Schelling and Governor Nowotny also held high-level bilateral consultations at the Federal Reserve and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

The IMF plenary on Saturday was preceded by a working breakfast with the Chairman of Royal Dutch Shell and followed by bilateral meetings at the U.S. Treasury and with Ukrainian Minister of Finance Natalie Jaresko and Governor of the Ukraine National Bank Valerie Gontareva.
